Why we exist
Our tenth company should launch faster, cheaper and safer than our first, and we intend to be able to prove it.
Young companies usually face a hard choice. Move fast and repair trust later, under pressure from a customer or an investor. Or build properly from the start and lose time to market. We think that trade-off is avoidable.
We do the foundational work once, to an institutional standard, and every venture we build starts on it. Founders keep their energy for the parts that matter most: the product, the market and the team.
We hold the group to it first. Our infrastructure is defined in code, our decisions are written down, and our security baseline was in place before we had anything to protect.
We innovate where customers can feel it and standardise ruthlessly where they can’t. No one in our companies should have to solve the same back-office problem twice.
Who leads the group
Founder-led, for now and on purpose.
Teboho Mokoena Founder
VD Holdings is led by its founder, Teboho Mokoena. He has spent eight years in South African banking, moving from business analysis into integration and systems analysis on payment and treasury platforms. It is work where every system depends on agreements with other systems, and where a decision nobody wrote down eventually costs someone money.
He started VD Holdings in 2026 to put that discipline in place once, at group level: governance, security, finance and engineering standards that every company inherits instead of rebuilding.
Visionary Dominions, the software engineering and enterprise architecture company he founded in 2020, is the first company in the group. While the group is small, he leads its work directly.
Along the way he has worked under strong managers and alongside top specialists in their fields, and much of how he works today he learned from them.
He holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Information Technology (NQF 8) from the Vaal University of Technology, awarded cum laude, as well as a BTech and a National Diploma in Information Technology.
